20 Tiered Kite20 Tiered Kite20 Tiered Kite

I think it is 20 tiered but I am not sure. I did not count!
Dalin wasn't such a great city for sightseeing, but we did get to eat some great food. We toured around the city and stopped at various places that looked out at some water. I bought a 20 tiered kite which looks awesome when flying. The guy I bought it from let me fly one before. The rest of the time was snapping pics and eating. We were there for a day.

Between Dalin and Harbin we took a bus trip to another unnamed city Qu Qu (something.) and stayed overnight. This was a Saturday. When we went for breakfast at 7AM there was no food left! Tons of people had been eating. We could not believe that the food was all gone and we were told to attend breakfast at 7AM. We noticed that the people eating were all hotel workers dressed in the same uniform. What? They feed the guests with leftovers? It was strange and funny at the same time. We realized then, that it was a special day for weddings on the Chinese calendar 6 of October and the 6th day as well . Good luck time. Also to be really lucky the ceremony takes place before

I think that these are left overs from the restaurants. I wouldn't eat them , would you?
12 noon. Lucky us. WE finally had some food sent to the rooms. By then when wanted to eat anything. Apparently there would be 8 weddings at that hotel that morning!

Harbin was cool. We went to a Siberian Tiger zoo with over 800 Tigers. Our friend (R) was peed on by the Tiger as he was taking a photo. The tiger was marking his territory. I am not sure what he or she had in mind for (R). We viewed the tigers while in a steel mesh protected bus with the windows open. We were able to see the Tigers eating live chickens and strips of beef.

We also visited an aquarium and viewed some polar bears and beluga whales up close. Neat stuff. Mostly for the kids.

China has alot of minor differences when comparing to the west. Smoking permitted almost everywhere. Cars, bikes, pedestrians share the same road. Motor cycles use pedestrians walkways. Alot of 3 wheeled motorized bikes and cars. Very little meaningful english. I now know what it is like to be illiterate.

See you in Bejing.
