We left Friday morning at 10 am to go to Shiyan for the weekend. Kyle and I went to our 1-2 classes, and on the way he told me that he talked to our co-teacher, Ms. Hu, about canceling his 3-4, and she said it was okay. She even asked if he wanted to go ahead and cancel 1-2. He said it was tempting, but he thought he should probably teach it. I was surprised he actually decided to teach.. and kinda impressed. I probably would have said, "Yeah, go ahead and cancel 1-2." ha. So class went okay. It started slow, but it got better. Welp, it's technically day 2 in Shiyan.. but it's day 1 after my Xi'an trip. I woke up at 7, 8 and then finally got up at 8:30 because HP was in a playful mood. I took her out, and I'm glad I did. She had to go bad. We walked up and down the street for a few minutes, and then I realized we had actually passed the hotel. Whoops. Some lady gave us a "hot dog" because she was eating one, and no matter how hard I tried to get HP to go, she would just turn around and stare at the lady. I tried saying no, but HP is a good beggar. Actually, this entry should be "Shiyan - Day 1" because we didn't actually make it to Xi'an on Monday.. but the trip was meant for Xi'an, so that's what we'll call it.. "Xi'an - Day 1". I got up around 8:30 and took HP out around 9:30 after talking to some folks on Skype. She went pretty quickly, and we came back home. I took a shower around 10 and started trying to pack.. yeah, I left packing til the last minute.. go figure. It was a distracted sort of packing because I had my computer on, and I was downloading songs, reading FB stuff.. you know, distracting stuff. I woke up at 7:30 am to get to the gate by 8:00 am. I was supposed to meet Robert from Foreign Affairs, Jamey and Priscilla, Nahoko, and Ms. Tokudome (Not sure that's how you spell it...) there to embark on our journey to Shiyan. Jessi was supposed to go, but she sent me a message that morning and said she just didn't feel like it. Kyle was already there. He left early Friday to go and spend the day with a Chinese friend and would meet up with us that morning when we got there. When I got to the gate everyone except Nahoko and me were there.
