Howdy, So yeah, i'm still here. There just hasn't been a lot to talk about. Still in Tongzi, Guizhou. To be honest.....it kinda sucks here. There really isn't anything to do. There's one park that no one really goes to, and aside from there all there is to do is wander around the city like a hobo. The city is extremely small so I can pretty much walk through everything in an hour or so and it's pretty boring. No one here really speaks English outside of English teachers and students, so there's no one to talk to, no one to meet. Thursday 1st October 2009 Happy 60th birthday Today is a special day - no it's not my birthday but The People's Republic Of China's birthday. It is mid-autumn festival holiday and National holiday combined. Today started unusually as a result of this special day - it was quiet. I awoke at 7.30 having had a good night's sleep for a change - nothing woke me up. I lay in bed at 7.30 listening to the wonderful sound of nothing - well nothing except some birds chirping away in the distance; it was heaven. For a full twenty-five minutes I listened to the 'sound of silence' until some machine started up somewhere close by and then other noises joined in, so as not to miss out on the day. Hey. So after I bought my plane ticket to Chongqing and I prepared to leave. Unfortunately I had to leave at like 7am. Why do I always have to leave so early? But I was very upset namely because I came back to China with the understanding that I was going to Hunan and now here I am flying to Chongqing and I have way too much crap that is overweight. So after investigation (More talking to the employee's that have no idea about the answers to my questions when they are very typical questions and it's their job to know the answers) I discovered the plane only allowed to check 1 bag at a max of 20kg. Crap. My bag upon coming here was almost 23kg. So somehow I had to lose 3kg in one ... read more
