We left Shanghai after another night on the beer & tequilla. We played pool with our room mate Rudi, (short for Rudolph as in the Reindeer!!) & an Australian guy, Josh, it was the last night of his trip so we had to make sure he went on a high. I have to declare that I am the worst pool player ever, even worse than I remembered!! We managed to pack by torch light, as there was a power cut at the hostel and got the train to Fuzhou. I swear I read somewhere it was going to be 7 - 9 hours, well the journey took 18 hours! Well arrived here this morning (Friday) at around 6am to find more rain so we made our to our accomodation. There are no hostels here so we are enjoying a bit of luzery in a nice hotel (still only 6 pound a night!). Luckily by the time i had showered and got changed the rain had stopped. We have decided only to stay here one night as there is not a lot happening here. We found it quite difficult to book a train as even less people speak English here than in the north. We originally wanted to go by train to Guanghouu but judging by the constant Chinese rambling and the stern look on the ticket officers face we took it as a no.
