Hi my loved ones and friends, As Many of you know, I have decided to go and Teach English in Bangkok, Thailand. This is my first entry and would like to welcome you all on my blog and hope we can share information through this digital world as I follow my dream. I have chosen Thailand for its happy people, the fact that I will be going alone as a female but most off all to travel and see the untouched parts of this wonderfull world like Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos wich borders the country. I am no city-girl and more drawn by the soul experience and that what nature has to offer us. Teaching? I always said I would never teach, but as I grew older my patience and love for children developed more into ... read more

Finally, I got to have my break from classes and once again enjoy being in Africa. The past week has been phenomenal, and I don’t know how I am possibly going to get it all down, but I guess the best thing to do at this point is just to start. Thankfully I have a million pictures (maybe not a million), and those will help to tell the story. Saturday morning, April 4, I woke up bright and early in order to get to Alma by 6:15 totally packed and ready to go for our 5 day IES trip. I had been mostly packed from the night before, so I just hopped in the shower and threw the remaining few items into my backpack. Yes, I packed for 5 days into a backpack, and I even ... read more

Men se mere selv!... read more

it doesn't realy get any better than a bottle of red and a sunset safari 11th Feb, Kwazulu Natal, Drakensburg mountains Hello!!! How are you guys liking the snow? Ha! So! Been on a safari since I last checked in, had a last few nights on Jo’B and have headed down into the Drakensburg mountains today. I’ll begin where I left you... We spent that last night in Jo’B in the bar with Gavin, the guy we had met during our last stay. We were up until the early hours with him, his friend and a couple of other folks from the hostel. Managed to get a free upgrade from a dorm to a double room at about 2am. Result! Gavins friend happens to work for that Africa channel on sky, just before you get to ... read more

Africa is famous for it’s diversity in animals, plants and landscapes. One of the main reasons we extended our layover here to 20 days was so that we could go and see these things. Only 3 days after we arrived, we packed up and went on a four-day camping safari in Kruger National Park. The goal was to see the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, leopard, lion and buffalo). We slept in tents within the park boundaries. We spent all day, every day (and some nights) in safari trucks crawling around the park, straining our eyes out into the bush. Finding animals in general wasn’t too difficult, they were everywhere. Things like impalas, zebras, waterbucks, steenboks, giraffes, and hippos were so commonplace that by the third day we passed them by with hardly a look. We were ... read more

"Happy New Year!" Our hushed celebrations rang out into the warm Summer air, as glasses of champagne were clinked together joyously. I found myself mesmerized by the surrounding night, staring out across the swirling blackness of the Shingwedzi River, I could only just detect the outline of the horizon in the distance. Apart from celebratory camera flashes and the magnificent scattering of stars, the lights from the 24-seater Landy were the only other source of illumination. I took a sip of champagne and smiled to myself in the night air. This was the first time I was spending New Year in the Kruger National Park and I couldn't think of a better place to be. We entered the park at Phalaborwa gate on the 29th and, after a stop at Letaba, headed north to Shingwedzi rest ... read more

This is my first message in a long time it seems. The last written explaination of life in SA was back in jefferey's bay, since then i made it to storms river, where i managed to pluck up the courage to do the worlds highest bunjee (caught on dvd so u can all have a laugh when i get home), more surfing down in Wilderness in the western cape, then a mixed time of too many late nights, idiotic moments where i let my gaurd down, and trying to experiance the beauty of a city within a mountain range. Cape town's experiance has confused me. I found myself once again questioning the whole idea of what i was there to do. Too many times i find myself in the early hours down long st. (main pub/bar ... read more

After the last 7 amazing days on our trip from cape to addo Ceri and I were lucky to have Marie, Kem and Mr T all staying at our backpacker in Cape town. Ceri Today had booked a tour of Robbin Island so the rest of us went to walk up table mountain this time taking the correct route stopping along the way to take funny photos it took us 2 hours to reach the top. In the afternoon we all headed down to camps bay where I was almost robbed of my debit card. Some guy came up to me when I was at the cash point trying to help. I have no idea how but he managed to grab my card and hide from me. He was trying to get me to enter my ... read more
