With Mbumi after the assembly
Hello fellow followers, it is Archie speaking

catching up on yesterdays news, we forgot to do it. the assembly was amazing, not just because we sang and played Amazing Grace. Tom did a reading from the bible, Mr Hudson spoke about it. Mrs Tysall then read out a letter from a 15 year old girl called Carys, who has been passionate about South Africa since she was four. It was very moving. Mrs Ntuli then asked Grace learners to thank us. Two boys, Musa and Taps came out first but no girl. So Mrs Ntuli asked for a girl to come to the front. Just when we thought no one was going to come up. Up stepped Mbomi who gave an amazing speech that left people in tears.

We made beads with Grade 4 (year 5)

In break we did a birthday party for a girl at the school. We had got a big cake and gave everyone in her class a piece. We blew up balloons and Tom played happy birthday on his cornet. Mrs Tysall had got her a gift because she knew her from last year.

We made and flew kites with Grade 7

Tom will play to order. This was breaktime entertainment.
(year 8), our age.

We then interviewed the sponsored children. I interviewed Zakhele, the 17teen year old St Andrews sponsor. There were twelve kids.

We went back to two sponsored kids houses, they both lived in Siyabuswa, Taps the boy that came up in assembly showed us his house. his mum told us that her husband worked in Cape Town and only saw his kids once a year. we then swiftly moved on to a girl called Sindy house. it was a very cramped house with only two rooms, one was a kitchen and the other a bedroom for SEVEN people!!! they only had one bench to sit on!!

Tuesday
It looks as though you have had a special time at the Grace School. I only wish I could have had that experience as a child (or now actually!) I know I sound like 'a parent' but soak up every memory you can - it will stay with you for always. Enjoy your next few days. Be proud of yourselves! Mum, Norah. X
