We're looking for historic excellence. Morocco has been around a lot longer than the United States, so it has its history of these very lush mint plantations and groves." - Chris Morris

Essouria was a beautiful seaside town but had lots of wind, windy enough to add layers . We had 2 nights in this town and we felt like we covered it top to bottom. We had a guided walking tour that explained the forts and the strtegic parts of the town and the contributions from the Portoguese, Andulcian and French. Then we may have visited or passed by all the markets stalls, called souks here, including the local live chicken market. Late on the second day we boarded a bus to Marrakesh, wow was all I could say as we entered the square. The main square is a pulsating frenzy of activity and we squeezed into stall number 44 at a long table to be served a feast. Yesterday & today we managed to find the cyber park, the museum and 2 palaces. Now we are off to more shopping in the sooks. We have snagged a charming riad for our remaining time here until we hit Casablanca on our way out of town. Au revoir !
