If you've followed Travelblog.org, you are already aware that this is not only a great website, it's also an amazing travel community...a way better way to have unbiaised travel insides...but even better, a great way to meet amazing new friends!

I met Mike on a short stop-over 18 months ago for a morning coffee at Miami International. At the time, Leslie and Tiffany where on holidays in Vietnam. Mike is another of these travel addicts Dad...yes, there few of us around, and he his sharing his passion with his 8 years old daughter, Sofia. You can find them on blogger=32409]. 18 months ago, I already knew we would be coming to Miami around the end of January 2013 with Leslie and Tiffany for our little North America trip...I know, I tend to plan slightly in advance our little trips...

So here we are, in Miami, enjoying a great welcome at Mike and Sofia place. I've been to Miami more than 10 times, and yes, there is South Beach. But this is really not a place for children to enjoy...so you won't see any picture of South Beach, because we simply didn't go there this time.

We made it directly on a Sunday afternoon to Mike's place. He had set up a huge BBQ that night with few of his friends, all well seasoned travellers too...that was a fun evening! Thanks Mike for the great welcome, the great friendship, the amazing BBQ...and the even more impressive italian wine.

As you can guess, the kids had a great time too....and yes, you've got the picture of the next generation of TB members right there!

Monday morning it was already time for us to head on the road one more time, but this time not that far away. I've been to the Everglades before, but the aim was to do a fun airboat ride with Leslie and Tiffany. Thanks for the advises from Mike and his friends, we settled for the Alligator Farm, than we went on for some fruit tasting at "Robert is here" before driving all the way into the Everglades National Park...and finishing the day in Key Largo.

The Alliagor Farm is a pretty fun place, and the place is actually pretty reasonnably priced. We did a really fun 20 minutes airboat ride into the Everglades...without getting "too" wet. They had also the alligator show, as well as the alligator feeding. But we didn't stay for the snake show. This place is really great for children.

Than on the advise of Mike, we stopped next door for some fruits at "Robert is here". They have amazing shakes...I went for the passion fruit one...yammie...Leslie gave a pass...go figure out...and Tiffany...went for serious strawberries....yammie too!

After this I drove all the way into the National Park of the Everglades...I've got the annual pass, but it was a "free day", as we were on Martin Luther King day. Well, the place is flat, really flat, with a lot of nice birds...I have to admit, we prefered the National Parks of Utah and Arizona!

It was already time to make our way to Key Largo...fun driving the little convertible Mustang...open roof obviously. Next entry....the Keys, for another amazing drive...and our last US stop of these fun "summer" holidays!

Coming back soon with even more sun! I know I'm still pretty late on my blogging...but trust me, I'm catching up fast!

Great to see you, Tiffany and Leslie
It was so great to see you and for our children to meet. They really hit it off and had a great time. Glad you made it to Roberts and to the Alligator Farm.....You all definitely have a place to stay when you are in Miami and with our travelling, I am sure our paths will cross again.....somewhere, sometime.
