This guy called Vicki a princess (wise man) and then called her his wife. He was what you would call a really cool smooth guy :)
Another fantastic day in sunny California.

We are still adapting to US time, traffic and my sense of direction is upside down which is killing me. We are both awake between 3 and 5am, around 9-11pm at home, which is around the time we would normally go to bed. It then takes that time to get back to sleep. Other than that no real jet lag as such just some sleep deprivation from the flight over.

Today we took the roofless double decker bus tour around LA/Hollywood/Santa Monica. For $40 you get to hop on/off as often as you like and commentary the whole way. We were able to get a shot of the Hollywood sign among our photos today. Vicki got to see Rodeo Drive, Melrose Avenue and Beverley Drive among the many famous streets we travelled on. Only set back was my Cradle Mountain cap got blown off my head today some lucky yank is now the proud owner of my favourite cap.

Our first stop this morning was at the Chinese Theatre in downtown Beverley Hills. So busy with street hawkers and hustlers, I'm sure we got hussled for some music but hey it was fun. The Chinese Theatre is really cool as is the Hollwood walk of fame with all the stars names on, snapped quite a few of our favourites.

Santa Monica is simply beautiful. We had a really nice lunch and were treated to more friendly service at an outdoor cafe in Santa Monica and then we walked down to the Pacific Ocean and the pier is a great place to visit at the end of Route 66. At Santa Monica Pier I replaced my Cradle Mtn cap with a Bubba Gump Shrimp cap so it was not all to no avail.

We experienced LA peak hour this afternoon as we left Santa Monica at 4:30pm in a cab. The driver mentioned he was Indian so we had a good chat about cricket to the point where we almost missed our exit on the freeway. Another extremely friendly taxi driver here in LA.

Dinner tonight will be at a local steak house as we both are both looking foward to a big juicy steak and a bottle of red wine. We have an 8am flight tomorrow morning to Las Vegas where we are picking up a car and driving to the Grand Canyon. Wish us well as tomorrow will be my first experience of driving on the wrong side of the road from the wrong side of the car.
