1: 2 manta raies 47 secs
We arrived at Airlie Beach at the beginning of August, with the idea of spending a couple of days sailing the islands of Whitsunday, one of the “must do”s of the Australian east coast.

We first spent some nights in an organic farm inland, which was run by a couple with two daughters and two dogs and two horses and two..no three cows (but actually two giving milk and one calf). We stayed there through the helpX system, helping with some works 4-5 hours a day. We did some fencing, weeding with a really hot sun. They were quite into organic food, have their veggie garden and doing their own cheese, butter and yogourt from their own fresh milk. Baking as well their bred. That is to say that we filled our stomachs quite a lot during these days because it felt so good to be able to eat such good food. We met there two other Danish helping as well, really nice and good guitr player.

After 3-4 days we finally decided to try to find a good discount for a boat trip for the next days, what we found :3 days 2 nights (actually 2 half days and 1 whole day) on the Atlantic Clipper to discover the Whitsundays islands. These days were quite amazing, a concentration of amazing things: beautiful landscapes, colorful lights and unexpected animals. The first evening, a dolphin was surfing on the wave created by the boat. The next day we saw lots of raies and a turtle. And the most exciting was the manta raies. They are huge (2m to 2m50 wide these ones, and we were told they could reach until 7m width), just like flying in the water, Loup even managed to swim with them. Quite good pictures and moments printed in the head, it was a “must do” really worth it!
