A potential BWI?A potential BWI?A potential BWI?

Thats biking while intoxicated. I mean, I totally made up the rule, but you be the judge
We spent the majority of our day in Amsterdam checking out all of the sites. We decided to rent bikes for a few hours and take a look around the whole city. We saw Dam Square, the flower market, Central Station, and all the other famous sites of the city.

At one point, I did get my bike tire caught in a tram track and was mere feet from my death. Actually, I was no where near death, or danger for that matter, but I did destroy my toe when I put my feet down to catch myself from falling. Besides the accident, the bikes were an excellent idea, and we got around the city super fast. There is definitly a big biker population, and many bike pathes and laws, but I think we fit right in. Im sure NO ONE suspected we were American tourists... Syke!

After a full day of sightseeing, we headed to Rotterdam, only about an hour train ride away, to stay in our final hostel. The StayOkay Rotterdam seemed simple enough, but little did we know that it would be the worst hostel we stayed in the whole trip.

Rotterdam seemed nice, but we justed wanted to get to the hostel (which took some effort of course, and was by no means easy) and fall asleep so that we could wake up and leave. We met a group of like 30 American grad students who were in Europe doing an architecture study. They were all in thier late 20's-Early 30's, and to be quite honest, there was something wrong with them.

We sat around with them all evening and watched soccer and drank some social beverages. However, they did NOT think Heather and I were funny. In fact, they rarely laughed at our (of course) hilarious commentary. I personally felt I was in rare form that night, but they loved to talk about themselves too much to notice.

After a small puke incident in the hallway invlolving some German kids in just underwear, we headed to the room to meet our roommates. A random kid, a couple from Arizona who didnt talk and hated America, and an AWESOME (note the sarcasm) Indian couple. The Arizona couple stayed up late reorganizing thier bags from thier 7 day stay in Rotterdam. How in god's name you could stay in that place for 7 days is beyond me, but they did it. The Indian couple husband, just commanded his wife around all night. The room was about 7347834 degrees, and not for ONE minute was the hostel quiet all night. Around 2, 4, 6, 8 am, there was some sort of extended extremely loud music, laughing, and other noise. Here's a simple equation:

Techno Music + 6 snorring people = Ryan not sleeping.

Of course the other 6 people (Heather included, even though she tried to lie about that too) snorred super loud. Somehow, through the heat and noise, I did sleep a bit. I know we were probably spoiled by hotels up to that point, but even if this was our first hostel, it was just not a good time. The people didnt make up for it either... we met absolutly no one here, and that was the first time on the whole trip we could say that.

After an okay night of sleep, we got breakfast and headed off to our final stop in Germany.

Ok, so I got to thinking and ..... I remember that kid from Arizona got up at like 4 am to go to the bathroom.. and of course, my face was mere inches from the door knob.. So without my glasses on and being half asleep, I said "Ryan, where are you going?" and he yelled into my face 'IM NOT RYAN!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!" Seriously, they should consider changing the name from "StayOK" to something more along the lines of "StayAway"!!
