And so we face......the final curtain! Time to go home, folks!
I know many of us are ready to go home. The World Tour was phenomenal for many reasons - but, there really is NO place like home.
Our last day in Iceland was a quiet one - up and at 'em at the hotel - a yummy breakfast and then an enjoyable bus ride to the Blue Lagoon. This is a world-famous location, particularly for people with skin disorders and ailments (such as psoriasis, which I have). There is a hotel and a full spa located at The Blue Lagoon - lots of changes since I was there 4 years ago, too.
As we rounded the corner on the highway, people were quite amazed to see that the water really IS BLUE! It's gorgeous - it's breath-taking - the sun was rising and it was a perfect morning for going in the waters.
Everyone got a wrist-band and their famous 'blue' towels and in we went. The water felt really good (similar to Banff Hot Springs) - for me, this is the stop I have been waiting for. While it stung at first (because of the
psoriasis on my legs), it was also soothing and I know I will feel and see the long-term effects, too. People were having a great time in the waters.
Meanwhile, back inside - other people were enjoying the Cafe, shopping in the store, and just visiting. Very relaxing.
Ben just had to have one of their 'world famous' hot dogs - not one of my favorites, although I did agree to try it again since my memories may not have been accurate. But, no, even though Ben was generous in sharing his hot dog - my thoughts have not changed, LOL. Brenda and I stuck with the ice-cream bar! It was enjoyable because, after being in the waters, I was thirsty and needed to hydrate. (good excuse to eat an ice cream bar - don't you think?)
After many of us left a good amount of $$ in the gift shop, it was time to leave.
Back on the bus and off to the airport. The departure process was smooth - really smooth. We were on the plane and on our way in no time.
The night previous, at our gala dinner, we had an
auction as I mentioned earlier. One of the 'wins' included the opportunity for 2 teams to work with the flight crew to do the safety demonstration for take-off. Well, all I can say is the plane was full of laughter. These 2 teams did an outstanding job of not only sharing the safety features of our plane, but their use of humor was brilliant. Kudos to them! The laughter was contagious - I caught a lot of these actions in the photos - enjoy! The flight crew then voted on the winning team - based on technicality and originality. Team #2 won!
Then, everyone settled in for the long flight home - to Ottawa (for Customs) and then on to Toronto (where many of us, including me) got off the plane - for the remaining passengers, it was a LONG day and continue trip home to Vancouver and then Kelowna, Edmonton, etc.
And that, folks is the World Tour 2011.
Many of you have asked about the 'Memory Coffee Table' book that I had on the plane with me - created by my client Donna Clark. You can contact her directly to order your own copy, if
you wish - Donna Clark
For those of you asking about my business and the F.R.E.E. CD that I offer ("7 Steps for Growing Your Business By Getting Out of Your Own Way!" - please visit my website at
And for the rest of you who are weaning yourselves off this blog - and, again, we thank you for being with us - book your own seat for next year. Ben, President of Travel Guild, is planning 3 trips: the Northern Hemisphere World Tour, the Southern Hemisphere World Tour and a tour of South America. Contact mary@travelguild.com for more information - and, remember, book early to avoid disappointment. Thousands of you have been following this blog - and there are only so many seats on the plane!
One last thing - another couple I'd like you to meet, who were on the trip with us - the Damiani's from Lacombe, Alberta. Just click on the link in the left-hand corner above for their video comments (or visit my YouTube account - Pat Mussieux) to see the video testimonials too.
And that's all, folks. It's been my pleasure to share our trip 'virtually' with you.
See you next time!
Happy Pat
(I'm with my Mom now - so she KNOWS how much I love her and have missed her!)
