This quote is significant because life is filled with so many opportunities for people. People just have to take advantage of what they have in front of them in order to be successful. This can convey people because people can realize no matter the situation life will always give them a chance to get out of where they are, and they will rake the opportunity. Steve Jobs took the created the iPod, which was popular, so he saw the opportunity to create more things people would enjoy and help him be successful. At UIC students will have a long road ahead them, but the long road will give them many opportunities students will have to take advantage of them.

This quote is significant because when a individual is exposed to a new idea their mind flourishes with a million other ideas that connect to it. From this new idea can come a new product, for example, Steve Jobs used his previous ideas to create more products for Apple. After he created the iPod he created many more products like the iPad, Mac book, and iPhone. But before he was able to create all these incredible products he had trail and errors. Incoming students at UIC will see ideas that will give ideas, which will help them stand out of the bundle.
3)“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tze
This quote is significant because if a person ever wants to see a change they need to make the first move in order to create something unique. The quote can convey others because a person might be inspired to take a step that will change their life completely. Steve Jobs took a single step to create an Apple product and his journey was to create more. Students that will attend UIC will have to take a a huge first step in order to have a successful fours years at UICCP.
4)“The only limits in your life are those that you set yourself.”
This quote is significant because no one can tell a person they can't do something. The quote can convey others because people can realize they can do anything they set their mind to, to not let others decide for them. They only person who will ever be able to stop a person is themselves. Students at UICCP should never limit themselves because everyone is capable to do what they want. At UIC it might be difficult to see past all the discipline, work, and uniform but don't let those limits not let you expand your knowledge. Because the limits are only temporary are are there to help you become a better individual.
5)"The most successful people are the people who know when they are wrong"
This quote is significant because when a person makes a mistake the first step is to accept the fact he or she were wrong. Once they know they were wrong they can move forward and learn from their mistake. An example of this would be Steve Jobs because he had a lot of trail and error before making Apple such a success. Steve Jobs knew when he was wrong and instead of giving up he took what he did wrong to make it right. At UIC students will make wrong decisions but the positive thing is students will learn from mistakes, which is why it is important to realize when wrong is done and learn from it.
This journal prompt relates to what we have learn in class because the quotes I picked are steps or something that leads people to happiness. Similar to Steve Jobs and is similar to "The Eight Fold Path."

Good job ptesenting. However, I think one thing you can do better next time is elaborate more on the quotes. I understood some, but I still wished I could've heard a little more explanation. I liked your quotes.
