6am: wake up
6.30am: kit up the dive equipment and enjoy a breakfast of tea and boucbouc(deep fried sweet dough ball), banana pancakes or semelina(corn flour porridge...very tasty with condensed milk)
7.30am: hop on the reefdoctor boat for the dive briefing while the captain Manjoi takes us to our first dive location
8am: hop in the water and put remaining gear on(BCD,regs, dive computer so on...) And begin descent after the buddy check (also the generator goes on for power back at the house)
9:15am: hop back on the boat for Manjoi to take us to the next location
10am: hop back in the water, kit up, buddy check, and descend for dive #2
11:15am: back on the boat for the de-briefing and go back to the house to log the dives and break down and rinse all the gear in time for lunch
12pm: lunch! Rice and beans....yummm :S (also the generator gets turned off)
12:30pm: siesta! I try really really hard not to nap during siesta because it is impossible to sleep at night if you do. So I either read, play cards with the other volunteers or laze in the hammocks on the beach.. Siesta is also the hottest time of day so you really try to move as little as possible cuz if you do you immediately start to pour sweat from every part of your body... Even your toes!!I take advantage by going to the well and pulling myself up a couple buckets of water for a very nice refreshing bucket shower.
2:30pm: either it is lectures, fish Id studies, snorkeling or just more reading.. By this time it has also cooled down enough that if we want to take a 15 minute walk to Ifaty to reload on bottled water or snacks we aren't quite as caked in sweat. (Also generator goes back on)
6pm: dinner! Rice and beans again..... Yum 😞 but we also get fruit and salad which sort of makes up for the rice and beans. (Generator goes off for the rest of the night)
6:30pm: everyone scrambles madly for the bathrooms before the sun goes down otherwise you will be visited by an enormous crowd of cockroaches :'(... Also by 6:30 your so exhausted you go lie in bed and fall asleep because 2 dives per day knocks the energy straight out of you.

I will attempt to post some pictures once I have hooked up my internet account at the house

Also if we could all please have a moment of silence for my poor poor dead ipod... I will miss you and I'm very sorry you died :'(

Anywho there is a day in the life of anne in madagascar
Veloma!
