It was good to have a full night's sleep. Matty came around in the morning so Beck could give him a treatment for his back. Then it was off to Frank and Lena's in West Horndon for lunch.
Unfortunately, we just missed our train and we had bought our tickets. Despite this, we caught a bus to Upminster and cut our losses. We got to Upminster a little bit late, and contemplated catching a train to West Horndon, but we rang Frank instead.
He was there in ten minutes, and before we knew it we were catching up with Aunty Lena and their dog Tramp. We had some lunch, and plenty of red wine to go with it. The rest of the afternoon was spent mainly talking about two of my favourite subjects, travel, and my Nan and Grandad.
Lena reminds me of Nan with some of her mannerisms, particularly her laugh, which was a great reminder of Nan. Lena spent part of the afternoon talking to Beck about crystals and alternative treatments/medicines. There was no mention of fish whacking though! Frank and I talked about soccer/football and climbing mountains.
Before it was time to leave Barry and Leslie dropped in to say hello. They both seem well, and Barry gave us some very good advice on cars. He suggested it would be a lot more cost effective to hire a car in summer than to buy one.
Soon Barry and Leslie left, and Frank drove us back to Grays. It was great to catch up with some family over here.
