Edit Blog Post

Just a quick blog to summarise my little trip to London for a couple of days.

I get off the tube and surface at a little area over looking Trinity Square Gardens. After a short walk past the Tower of London, I then gaze upon one of the symbols of London, Tower Bridge. Thus begun my world wind tour of London and it's attractions. A day and a half plus most of a Monopoly board saw me take in such sights as Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Downing Street, The London Eye, Houses of Parliament complete with St. Stevens Tower (Big Ben), Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Harrods, Kensington Palace and still managed to catch up with my mate Dave whom I haven't seen for about a year and a half.

My claim to fame came when I was walking down to Buckingham Palace and a police bike pulled into the intersection and stopped the traffic. I thought that was a little wierd but then saw him look back to an entourage of cars. I snapped off a pic then was greeted by the sight of Prince Charles as he glanced at me through his window. The thought by-passed the brain and went strait to the finger where I snapped off another shot just catching him in a slightly blurry and badly reflecting picture as he sped away.

Riding the underground was great. How good the underground is largely depends on who you ask. To the average tourist, the Underground is a great way to get around and your never waiting more than a few minutes for a train. If you ask a local who relys on the underground for work etc... the tube is a "do it because I have to" scenario, where constant power failures and "useless staff" make it a necessary evil. They bitch and moan but I believe that the whole city would come to a grinding halt without it as it is the life blood of London.

I saw some great sites and I am looking foreward to going back for a more detailed look, seeing a few extra things I missed the first time and get a good feel for the city. I hope one day to actually be working there for a while as I think the big city lifestyle would be fun.

So that's about all the exciting things that have happened to me in the last week or so. Blogs will probably stop now untill I travel elsewhere or something exciting happens but I'll be checking this site and emails often so if you want to get in touch with me, just leave a comment or drop me a line. Also I can be called at the pub or called on my mobile, I have a UK sim card. Email me if you want them.

So take it easy all and I look foreward to bringing you more exciting adventures again soon.
PEACE, CAMO!!!

London in a whirlwind
You have revealed more of London in one day than I have shown people in over 3 months of being here. Well done! Trust you to have a Prince Charles encounter on your first day in the city. If you want to meet the whole family, I'm told that his mum is heading to Guildford soon! Till we force our paths to cross, T xx

The First London Bits
Hmmm "Blurry and badly reflecting" - sooo, you definitely got his best side then. St Stevens Tower - it was your Mum who added to my "edification" last year by explaining the difference between this and Big Ben. Too bad you couldn't collect every time you went past Go on that whirlwind Monopoly tour. You'd be a rich little bar person by now. xx
