Happy New Year Everyone!
So the last couple of days being in Bangkok, have been rather exciting!
First there was the well missed cuisine (McDonalds, The Royal India and Squeeze, the famous smoothy bar - all at Paragon), then there was the Paragon complex itself, followed up by an exilerating 2 and 1/2 hour 3D iMax Avatar experiance, and to top it all off....New Year at Rambuttri drinking Chang beer and smoking apple sheesha!
Life doesn't get better than this!!!
We have enjoyed 3 nights staying in the posh Rambuttri Village Inn, which has been by far the nicest hotel we have stayed in, in the whole of South East Asia! It may have something to do with the expensive prices! But as it was new year, we thought "lets treat ourselves"!
As we are still awaiting a package being sent to us here in Bangkok, we have now left the Rambuttri Villiage Inn and its $27 a night rooms, and are now staying round the corner still in Rambuttri but in a guesthouse called Merry V! We do have to share bathrooms with people on our floor, but for 200 baht (4 english pounds), a night....it had our names written
all over it!
Anyway...going back to New Years night!
We started the evening off by watching the OUTSTANDING movie Avatar! We enjoyed it so much, as soon as the film had finished, we went and booked for another viewing on the 4th January! It was then down to the Paragon food hall for a damn good curry! Half an hour later, a very full Onie and Ricky made our way outside the complex and enjoyed watching the live music on Paragons grande stage!
We then made our way via taxi back to Rambuttri, where we headed for our favourite bar called 'Sa Wa Dee Bar'! It is here we stayed drinking beer and smoking apple sheesha into the New Year!
At midnight, an awesome fire works display exploded over our heads!
It was by far the best New Year, either of us had EVER had! We just wish our family and friends could of been there with us to enjoy it!
Today we are just chil-axing, theres not much going on at our end!
When we have recieved our package, we will be making our way to Phuket in the south of Thailand, via a daunting 14 hour night bus!
Ouch!!!
Whilst our stay in Phuket, we will hopefully be meeting up with Amy Sharp, who is one of Riks old school friends! She has been living in Phuket for the last 2 years, and is a Thai boxer who hasn't actually lost a fight yet! Go Amy!!!
We plan to then island hop around the islands on the Andaman Sea coast! Phi Phi and Krabi are definalty top on our list!

Happy New Year darlings! 2010 (twenty ten) that has a nice ring to it, like the church bells in the square at midnight. Like the new hair style very much are you going to wait till you get back in the UK to have it done? great to talk to you both on skype. Take care of each other, love mum xx
