We're now in Hue, which is about 11 hours south of Hanoi, after 3 wonderful days touring around the beautiful Halong Bay!!!
What an awesome three days we had!!!
Our first day was spent exploring caves, Kyacking and cruising around the stunning islands at Halong Bay, followed by a very comfortable stay on our boat. We then enjoyed our second day trecking on Cat Ba Island, chilling out on its georgous beach and riding around on a moterbike we had hired (who we named Nelson The Second - of course)!!! We both felt really special when we arrived in Cat Ba town itself, as everyone we had been staying with us throught-out the Halong Bay tour, was checked into a really vile looking and run down 2* hotel which was situated inland somehwere on Cat Ba island, but we however were the only 2 to be asked to stay on the bus, as we were being wisked away to a lovely 3* hotel with all the mod cons and a balcony with a view of the harbour (high five ricky and onie)!!!
Our thrid day was mainly spent eating and sailng throught the Halong Bay Islands in which we had not
seen yet.
When we arrived back in Hanio, we jumped onto our sleepy lay-down night bus to Hue, which took us nearly 15 hours, but didn't feels like that as we both slept like a babies all the way here.
We met some really lovely Brits on the bus who are all from Bournemouth. When we arrived in Hue we all decided to stick together, so we're all staying in a really cute little hotel in what the locals call "Backpackers Alley".
The weather today has been miserabable. It has not stopped raining since we've been here. We've been told that we may get the tail end of a Typhoon which has come from the Philippines 😞 fingers crossed it won't reach us!!!
We're hoping it will brighten up tomorrow, so we can go and explore the old capitals sights.
Next stop De Nang.....
