We're here at last in Vietnam!!!
Touched down not long ago, after an hours flight from Bangkok!!! We flew with Air-France which we were really impressed with, as they gave us seats by the exit. This meant we had LOADS AND LOADS of leg room (see pics), however we did have to try REALLY hard not to make an L with our fingers on our foreheads and shout "LOSERRRSSS" to the other passangers!!!!!
We're currently staying in the capital Hanoi in a 2* Hotel called 'Omega' , which has been designed by a french architech and has the biggest rooms on the planet...Literally!!! We also have air-con, a TV, 2 grande chandeliers and a hot bath/shower too!!! And its costing us the same amount of money to stay here, as we were paying for a dingy hostel room in Thailand!
We are staying in the Old Quarter which is in the north west of Hanoi, near the Red River and the Ho Koan Kiem lake. Its really beautiful around here as all the buildings were designed by the French, so its got a very Parisian feel...Lovin It!!!
We've been enjoying having our dinner at the lake side complex here in Hanoi,
Ho Hoan Kiem LakeSituated 2mins away from our Hotel, and next to the criuse line complex
which has been designed to look like the back of a cruise liner!!! Tres cool!!! (See pics).
And we're now looking foward to friday (30th), as we have booked our 3 day/2 night trip to HALONG BAY...YEY!!!!! Our itinerary goes as follows:
Day 1 (Friday) - Get picked up at 8am and taken to our ship which only has a maximum of 16 people on board (heaven). We then have lunch and start to cruise around the islands. After an hour or so we stop for kyacking, swimming, snorkeling, ect. We spend our first night on our 4*boat.
Day 2 (Saturday) - We set sail to Cat Ba Island which is right in the middle of the limestone islands in the emarald sea of the Tonkin Golf. We will spend our 2nd night at a 3* hotel here. After lunch, we will have all afternoon/evening to chill out on the islands white beaches and visit the local market, ect.
Day 3 (Sunday) - We will return to our original boat and continue to sail around the island untill 3pm, in which we will then be taken back to Hanoi via mini-bus.
We have also decided that the next place
we would like to visit after Halong Bay is 'Hue' which is just north of Hio An. We will be getting on a sleepy bus from Hanoi to Hue on sunday night at 6pm after shortly arriving back from our Halong Bay trip.

Vietnam looks great sounds like you're both happy and well. The trip you've booked sounds brilliant and quite luxurious.
