Back in Cologne we resume are daily chore - get up, head out & walk the city until Chaqa has to head to work and then I venture around on my own~ I am an easy guest and tourist. Once I have my bearings I don't need to be lead around. At times I prefer to be on my own, get lost or into trouble. Yes, trouble - well I can always say I misunderstood I was lost in translation.
Thursday day we hustled around town doing shopping - I had a few requests. Hopefully Vernon & Levar were pleased with their items. I am not a typically tourist - I prefer to do a day in the life opposed to hitting all the "attractions" well aside from the obvious ones! The Dome was amazing - I am always awe struck by the architecture from back in the day. Sadly it is half the size of it's Pre-WWII size. Like the balance of Cologne - over 80% destroyed, so most of the city is Post modern - so - to - speak.
Went to lunch at a lil buffet place in the shopping area of Cologne. Great food, reasonably
priced - now being a food whore - you know I am going to comment. This is where David Goldrake - a European renowned illusionist, joined us. He seemed sketchy at first - but then he grew to love me!!! Thursday evening I was on my own and explored here and there - turned out to be a quite and interesting evening and navigated home all by my self!
Friday day was more walking around breakfast with David - his obsession begins LOL. Cafe Rico is trendy but it took over an hour to get scrambled eggs - therefor my breakfast passed brunch and became lunch. After that - we headed to a house warming/Feng Shui Ceremony. All I can say it was quite interesting. Funny but caddy is caddy in any language! The Apartment was nice but very compartmentalized there was a small but fun group there - After all participants arrived - we sat in a circle in the living room - prior we all took a rock with liebe (love) inscribed on it. In the middle of the room there was a bowl of water w/flowers and copper pot w/musical mallet. Of course the ceremony was
in German, which I was fine with. She kept apologizing to me and I am like no worries!
She took the flowers out of the vase and passed it around, the guy next to me explained that we were to dip our hands in the water, then flick the water off our hands to cast out the evil thoughts. Then she said sum things (in German) and again apologized. Then we passed around the brass bowl and musical mallet and wished the homeowner good luck or the like and then tap the mallet on the bowl so the tonal vibrations reverberate! I was so hoping that we did not have to do this in each room - it was more pomp than circumstance! It was later explained to me that we were to visualize the ceremony in each room. From the reviews I think it was better if you did not understand what was said LOL.
Later that evening I was to attend "The Show" Brazil Forever - See Next Entry.
One of the nicest things that happened was on Saturday evening I was having "cafe" with Ena & Clause. We were talking of my trip and
impending departure - I explained that I as doing the taxi, train, shuttle to the airport and Ena said - I can take you - I am like that is sweet but not necessary, then she said something I had not expected - it's not a problem I will be up - and besides that is what we do here! Blew me away!!!
Saturday consisted of more walking, talking, eating, cafeing - I am so European!!!
Well that about covers this installment - The Show and The Festival (celebration of my time there) LOL will conclude this installment.
Thanks again for humoring my blatherings!
Laters,
