Sushi Restaurant
Each plate is $1. Day 30: Sushi with Host Family
Sunday, April 12, 2009 8:30am: Jon wakes me up with a phone call. I was glad that he made it safely in Houston, Texas with his dad. His dad said thanks so much for the things that I bought him. They made it seem like it was a lot. lol, I didn't really think so. Jon said he'll call me again when he makes it to Chicago. I went back to bed.
10:00am: I woke up. Nobody was home and I read the note that was left for me. My host family will come back soon. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and ate breakfast (egg and slice of bread with water). I watched tv as I ate.
11:00am: I washed my make-up brushes and laid them out to dry. I vacuumed and wiped my floors and dusty areas in my room. Seriously, Japan gets more dusty than Chicago does. If I don't clean often, my throat gets stuffed with dust. I washed my hands in this bead thing to make them softer. I did it before Jon came. It works.
12:30pm: I started to update this travel blog. I didn't update the days when Jon was here because I was so busy hanging out with him. Notice that I came home late and I woke up pretty early. I just realized that I am exhausted. I leave my room door open, just like the way I do at my Chicago home, to invite the people in the house to peak in whenever they like.
1:30pm: My host family came back. I ate the rest of my chocolates that I bought at the Narita Express train yesterday. I really don't want to get fat, so I decided to skip a real lunch today. I continued to update my blogs.
4:00pm: It was taking such a long time to upload that I went upstairs to see what my host family is doing. Yuzuki was crying, so I wanted to see if she wanted to play. She stopped crying when she saw me. 😊 I talked to Jon.
5:00pm: My host family and I got picked up by Daiki's grandparents to eat at a sushi place. It's that sushi station again, but everything is $1 a plate! It's so cheap! I loved it. I got full really fast. As usual, I ate 7 plates and ate a dessert (pudding).
7:00pm: Manami and I kept falling asleep in the backseat of the car but Daiki kept waking us up by driving side to side. I was laughing! My host family is so funny!
7:30pm: Daiki went to the game center. Manami watched some tv. It was a game show where the players are smart. There's REALLY hard kanji that even Japanese people cannot read. So the game is that you see the kanji and you read it correctly. Also, you need to write the kanji. I want to play! But I don't know my kanji yet. I was so sleepy and tired that I kept falling asleep. Yuzuki kept wanting to play, so she would go on top of me and "sleep." Manami and Yuzuki took a shower and went to sleep.
8:00pm: I took a shower and went to my room. I finished updating my blogs and listened to some Japanese songs online. I want to hear what songs are popular in Japan. I REALLY like American Hip Hop music, but I'm in Japan. I want to know the music here. It's not as clubbish and even though I don't understand much, a lot of the songs are sung in English. Some songs are really good and sweet. 😊 Jon called me again. He's in Chicago now.
12:00am: I am about to read where my classes are and figuring out my schedule for tomorrow. School begins tomorrow.

Lol, at that sushi place, you need to rely on each other to get the things you want, huh? :D
