Vending Machine Beers!
We soooooo need these in the UK After a long flight i arrive at Narita Airport @ 8.45am. I am exhausted, thanks to another night of crap sleep & jet-lagged to fuck. I get my bags and go through customs. I am really looking forward to getting back to my hotel for a shower, shit & kip. The guyatcustoms seems very suspicious but i suppose it is all part of the job. I am a Gaijen after all!
I decide to get the coach into Tokyo as it seems the cheapest option, it is 1 hr 30 minutes to Shinjuku so i doze on the bus. I wake up right at the station and miss the drive in.
In Shinjuku i am fucked. I am completely lost, bewildered, have no map, none of the taxi drivers speak English and it is baking hot. Fantastic! - it is right then that i realise i am in for a crazy trip.
I absolutely LOVE Japan,. Nuts!
I manage to - after trying 6 cabs - to find one who knows the general area and jump in. The price is 1346 yen, equal to about 10 pound. I am not bothered by the cost as i am
just happy to get to my apartment.
I check into my room, it is very Japanese-esque. Sliding doors, tatami mats and all that malarky. It is not the best room in the world but you get what you pay for. tokyo is one expensive mutha of a city so i am not too fussed.
I have a shower & lie down for a kip. This quick sleep turns into an all day affair and i waste my Friday. What a fuckin plum!
I wake up late at night and i am absolutely starving. I go off to check out the area and find a delightful restuarant. the food is fabulous, really cheap & the staffare mega friendly. I feel happy & mellow.
After what seems like a long day i head back to my apartment 5 beers, half a box of fags & a fat munch later. I am buzzing my tits off after buying my first ever vending machine beer. What a place!
