Driving through the sugar cane fields
Today we travelled from Kempsey to Ballina. We called in to visit a friend's son at Woodburn. Daniel Simpson and his wife run the Woodburn pub. We popped in to say hello and have some lunch. The scenery in this area is beautiful. The river runs beside the highway and there are many bridge crossings along the way. North of Woodburn is the sugar-cane area. Fields of Sugar cane lined the sides of the highway.
We arived in Ballina mid afternoon and stayed at the Shaws Bay caravan park. Our Site provided us with a lovely view of the water. We went for a long afternoon walk along the breakwall. It was fine but quite windy.
