We enjoyed a wonderful and busy Christmas this year. On Christmas Eve my sister, Rosie and her husband Rick and two of their daughters came to stay with us. We had a lovely feast on Xmas morning - croissants, bacon, eggs and pancakes -yum. We then gathered together for a lovely Christmas lunch at mums. (Andrew, Jane, Matt, Simon, Mike, Marie, Anne, Sheelagh, The Stars and The O'Briens). Rosie and Rick then joined Steve and I, at our place, for a spa and xmas dinner. Then, Today we drove down to Pat and Kerry's place and enjoyed a lovely day with the neices and nephews and their children. Whilst we were there we also celebrated the 18th birthdays of Shelly and Simon. It was lovely to catch up with everyone. What a lovely busy few days ... read more

On Saturday the 19th November we had a lovely birthday lunch to celebrate Meagan's 21st birthday. There were approx. 70 people who came to the party. It was great fun and Meagan enjoyed the day. We had family drive some big distances to attend. My niece, Trini drove all the way from Canberra with 3 small children in tow. Rosie, Rick and Shelly drove down from Old Bar and Anne came down from Muswellbrook. We also had a lot of our 'Sydney' family attend which was lovely. For those that were unable to come - we missed you :( We had chicken, ham and salads for lunch and chocolate mud cake and berry vanilla cake for dessert. My sister Anne helped me with the shopping and the food. Many thanks to her!!!... read more

Steve and I took the van up to Swansea for the weekend. Swansea is only about 1hr north of where we live. It is on Lake Macquarie and is a great area for water sports. We arrived on Saturday morning and set up the van and had some lunch. In the afternoon we went for a lovely long walk and a wander around the van park. There was a beautiful sunset on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning we went for another long walk and then we relaxed under the trees and watched the people boating, fishing and swimming. We were fortunate to have such nice weather. We used to bring the kids camping up here and I have lovely memories of them learning to ride their bikes, catching their first fish etc.... read more

We arrived in Sydney very early in the morning and we were feeling pretty tired as we had had no sleep. We gathered our bags and were met by our transfer. Imagine my shock and surprise when a stretch limosine pulled up!!! I had no idea!! What a fantastic end to the holiday - a ride home in a limo. I have never been in a limo before and I was very excited. We are thrilled to be home and back with our girls and Steve R. When we walked into the house we were met by a lovely 'welcome home' sign. (Thankyou Meagan you are very thoughtful). We cannot believe what we have done. The places we have been, the sights we have seen, the fantastic people and family that we have met along the ... read more

Today we had our first sleep- in, lovely. We then went up to the pool area and had a lovely swim in the pool and an enjoyable and relaxing breakfast. It was so nice to float around in the pool and reflect on our holiday. We have seen and done so much in such a short time. We then met up with Mike and Jan and went on a cruise on the Singapore River. The cruise was lovely and we enjoyed taking in all the sights of Singapore. Following our cruise we went to the famous Raffles Hotel. (I had to have a Singapore Sling at Raffles!!). Jan and I wandered around the Hotel and we were amazed at is grandeur. We then returned to the Swisshotel and collected our bags and headed for the airport ... read more

We crawled into bed and had 4hours sleep and then met Mike and Jan to explore Singapore. We caught the hop-on, hop-off bus and saw all the sights. Mike and Jan then went back to the Hotel and Steve and I went exploring. We caught the bus down to the Singapore Flyer, which is similar to the London Eye. We had some fabulous views from up on the Flyer. We then caught a bus to Sentosa Island and enjoyed a ride on the cable car. We spent a couple of hours there before heading back to the Hotel. We then met up with Mike and Jan and had dinner at Little India, where they served our curry on a banana leaf. Our first day in Singapore was very busy.... read more
