Oktoberfest was crazy, getting there was just as crazy. After leaving London me and P took a quick flight to Dublin. We stayed in a not so great hostel called The Shining, close to the river, maybe a 10min walk to the Temple Bar Area. it's basically a strip of tourist bars. We had a pint in that area, then moved on exploring. We found a couple spots off the strip where the pints were a couple of euro cheaper, so we hung around there instead. we actually went back to one sunday night because they had a live jazz band. Dublin is tiny compared to London, so we actually were able to cover it in only a couple hrs walking. Rob met up the Monday for the flight out to Brussels (covered slightly in my last post). Jelle was our first couchsurfing (couchsurfing.com) experience, and i'd be ecstatic if the rest are half as cool. Brussels was small as well, but there were some cool things to see - like the grand plaza and the cathedral.

After Brussels, Rob and I started the journey to Munich for Oktoberfest where P would meet up again. The cheapest route we could

even though it was 10pm, there were a lot of people lined up for the last chance to get in.
find was to fly to Berlin and catch another plane to Munich the next day. Since we were only in Berlin for a night, and we got in kinda late, we decided not to book a place to stay and just walk around. We started out with with a quick dinner then out for the night tour. We just took a map and started walking. It was safe, there were a lot of cops out on patrol, so don't worry. The hardest part was trying to stay warm in the early morning hrs. We made it back to the airport around 530am, but had to wait around and kill time until noon. Those were some of the longest and slowest hrs of my life. But we made it here to Munich, to Oktoberfest, but not to a table in any of the tents. We stuck it out in the beer gardens, and wobbled home hotel two nights in a row. 4 steins, then 5 steins. (sorry DZ, couldn't make it to 7)

Zurich is next, followed by Barcelona, Rome, Stockholm, then probably Pisa.
