ALOHA,
hello all, well we have arrived and the flight was fine, we were a bit uncomfortable but we slept in the end. I was able to ask them for a front row seat for mart so he could have his foot further stretched out than usual, so that was good too. It was still annoyed though as he had this old woman leaning on him etc. we did laugh though. some people they just dont care do they??
So met up with the folks as soon as we arrived out of the airport as we were not allowed to check in until 3. bit of a bummer as all we wanted was a shower and to get marts cast looked at and get him some cruches. So met mum dad sharon and john at there posh hotel, i mean posh. so so nice where they are staying. we had brekkie with them and all had a real laugh. it felt like we have not even been away from them. so nice, and we went out last night for our first meal and it was so nice to all be catching up and chatting about our adventures. they are
all very proud of us and think it is so wonderful.
marts leg is all sorted now, well as sorted as it can be i guess. we went to the local hospital. it was like the ritz compared to the one in Fiji. makes you realise how lucky we are. and we got seen to straight away all they asked for was our insurance stuff, and they call them direct and all i had to do was make a claim with the insurance too. So he got seen and then had another ex-ray and he is now on crutches and has the wayne rooney boot. Its great as he only needs to wear it when he is walking and out and about, so when we are by the pool or at the beach, he just takes it off to go in the sea/pool, and when laid down sunbathing. hes really happy to be able to get in the sea etc. The boot even has a pump that blows up internal cussons that give great support. we were all laughing as it is such a small bone, but it is obviously so important, as they said he needed this boot
and crutches for 6 weeks and they are going to phone us so we can have an orthopeadic appt before we leave here, so that in LA they can check it again. So mart is happy not to be in a cast and he can now as least float on the water. No surfing though. But i have to say the surf we have seen looks to mean any how. way to big!!!! he keeps winding us ladies up and saying how he will be alright in a week and will be on the board surfing. we all shout at him and say "no bloody way will you".
So it is hot here and so lush, massive city with the best shopping and food places just everywhere, the beach we went to yesterday was so nice, oh its just great to have the parents here and to be on a nice holiday with them. so so happy. Our hotel is great to, pool, free breakfast, free internet (so that means i will not see mart for the whole two weeks) massive bed nice room etc. so ideal. Waikiki beach is really nice, but super busy. The water is so
warm and clear, the waves are great and just off the beach are loads and loads of great shops. this place is so cool. the beach near the parents hotel is a lot quieter and prettier, so we've spent some time there too. the waves at wiakiki are class though, so i think il get the board out and go in, although marts not so keen to be stuck on the beach watching, bless him. Shopping is insane here. All clothes are half the price of england. All surf clothes is half price, foods half price, its so tempting to spend loads. Marts got a few things on his list, as do i.
We've booked a great day trip around the island for weds (johns birthday), which involves going to pearl harbor and the memorials etc, then to the north shore, right around the east coast and south coast back to honolulu. Taking in all the views/sights/and stopping off at loads of different places along the way. Should be fun. At the rate we are all eating, we will put on about 1stone each. the food is to die for, and its not hard to see why there are
a few overwieght americans. Great food, great price!!!!!!.
Well its just a short one, but with the internet access we'll keep the blogs coming thick and fast. Once again, its sooooo nice to be hear with my parents and sharon and john, and we're all having great fun. Its fab to see them after 9 months apart. love to everyone at home, soph and mart xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So pleased for you all
Hi ya you two glad to read the latest blog. I know alls a lot brighter now Martin and the foot has been sorted. We can tell by the writing Soph that you are over the moon at the moment with seeing the family, it seems like you are smiling just sat at the computer, it is really lovely to see you all so happy in the photos too. By the way doesnt the beach photos look wonderfull, clear blue skys, we can just tell it is hot hot hot. Good to hear that the food is reasonable too, because we`ve always been lead to believe Hawaii is expensive so that great. As for the shopping no doubt everyone will go mad for the named clothes at bargain prices, hope your mums got lots of room to bring stuff home with her. You are now 11 hours behind us, which is the first time in 9 months of travelling this has happened, as untill now you were always ahead of us time wise. We all will get used to it quickly im sure. Have a great time tomorrow on Johns birthday doing the sailing day trip, and not too many beers for Martin remember, when you go out to eat in the evening. Send John our best wishes for a lovely day too will you. Speak to you soon and enjoy every minute of Hawaii. Love to everyone,Take care. Mum. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
