Pink HostelPink HostelPink Hostel

where we all stayed during our orientation week
Yes!! I arrived safely with a fellow Dutch volunteer in Ghana on Sunday, an hour late (because we were waiting for a passenger at Heathrow) and then... without my rucksack! Now why my suitcase full of toys arrived but not my rucksack with clothes/ medicine etc didn't arrive, I don't know. So as you can imagine, I didn't sleep well that night because I was worried if my rucksack would arrive before going to the orphanage next week. Thankfully it arrived yesterday evening, so all is well 😊

Monday morning I met the rest of SYTO gang at the Pink Hostel we are staying at, which is for one week. There are 3 (and a half) Dutch teenagers, 2 (and half 'lol') British (one of which will be working in the same orphanage as me and is a vegetarian too!), 3 Swedish, 1 Norwegian, 2 Germans and 1 Swiss. There are only 2 boys and the ages of us range from 17 to late 40s. We all get on great together, as we are here for the same thing: To help the people in Ghana 😊
In the mornings we go to the SYTO office and the lovely Ghanian 'mamma'

Tina, teaches us about the Ghanian culture. Later on smiley Charles and Paul show us around the city. It is really warm here, sometimes hot. It rained a few times yesterday, hard, but only for about 30mins.

Well there is so much I want to tell you all, but my time is running out. I want to let you know that everything is going well here and I am loving Ghana. I will write on here as often as I can, which I think will be about once a week. Hopefully my mobile will work soon too, so I can phone my friends and family.

Peace and love my brothers and sisters 😊 xxx
