At least, this is my sincere hope as tomorrow morning I leave for a 12 day trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary (also known as the Annapurna Base Camp trek). I've hired a female guide cum porter which means she will be toting my bag and keeping me company on the right path for the next couple weeks. Excited and nervous as I speculate about what it will be like to walk in the mountains for 12 days and be completely at the weather's mercy. While I will be staying at lodges all along the way, there's still that pesky distance to cover in between. 😉
