Nathan and Lindsie on the half shell at the Monteray Bay aquarium
hey all!! well we haven't gotten too far south since our last blog, due to various bumps we hit in the past couple days. the first being I had one of the most mierable hang over's in my life at this place called Fernwood tucked in the beautiful redwoods of Big Spur, CA. This little incedent delayed our travels for a good day as I was not comfortable to jump on a motorcycle considering the state I was in. It was an expensive campground but we met a nice friendly family from San Fran that gave Nathan a beer, offered us a meal, and became good conversation for a portion of the day. Sunday we proceeded down california's hwy 1 which is a beautiful winding road that put Nathan and I's motorcycle skills to the test. Not only was it a curvey road with pratically 90 degree turns, it was real windy as well which makes the load on Nathan's bike act as a nice land sail. But, we continue to power through the wind and head south. Currently we are about an hour north of Sanata Barbara and plan to get there tonight. Then, we plan to attempt the drive

through and past LA...which should be interesting to say the least. We continue to meet very interesting people along the way (including a guy named Skoot this morning who clued us into some "living on the road" advice that included everything to making a campstove out of a tuna can with rubbing alcohol to selling people picutres at bars to make money). Last night we camped at a state park near the beach and natural CA dunes where we enjoyed watching people kite surf along the shoreline. We had our first motorcycle repair on the side of the road in Coos Bay yesterday where Nathan's bike decided to start spitting gas out everywhere in the middle of the road. It ended up being a flooded carborator or something (he knows better than I) and we just drained the fuel into an MSR can and were on our way in no time. Well, I must be off, time on the computer is short and valued so, until next time...take care and I miss you all! -lindsie

I got gas in Anchorage last night at $3.65. At least you are not driving a 60' motorhome! Enjoy and please be safe, especially in Mexico. Love ya.
