Hyde Park
This was on my way back to my hotel in Darlinghurst from a soggy Manly Beach. This will be the staging area for the Mardi Gras Parade tomorrow. Supposedly, a few years ago, this was not a very friendly place, but it has been revitalized and is quite a pretty park. As you can see, no evidence of rain! G'day Matie's:
Well, according to Mom, I have quite a following on the blog. Especially traveling alone, it is really great to share my experiences with family, friends and friends I didn't even know I had! I love reading your comments and e-mails. If you post a comment I can accept it and it will show on the website, if you send an e-mail, it is sent to my e-mail account.
Today started a little wet and rainy. I walked down to Circular Quay to have a small bite to eat before catching a 30 minute ferry to Manly Beach. Well, I got to Manly Beach and the skies opened up, so I jumped on the next Ferry back to Sydney. Of course, once I got back to Sydney, the skies were blue and sunny again. I went back to the hotel to decide on what to do next. I decided to head to the cliff walk at Bondi Beach.
Of course, it started to rain again, but the skies were only partly clouded, so I headed to King's Cross to catch the Bondi Explorer Bus. I couldn't let you down and not have any pictures for the
Sydney from Rose Bay
This is a picture of Sydney from Rose Bay. Not far from here is the where the Bay meets the Pacific Ocean. I don't remember the name of the cathedral behind me. day! While waiting at the bus stop another woman sat down next to me and we began to chat. Well, wouldn't you know, she is from Philadelphia and was stopping in Sydney before heading to a conference in Melbourne. She was traveling by herself until her boss and partner came down on Monday. And wouldn't you know it, she was also heading to the cliff walk in Bondi, so we decided to travel together. Before you know it, we were heading back to Sydney and walked all around the Rocks and grabbed dinner together. We parted ways after dinner, but we will be getting back together for the parade tomorrow afternoon. She is meeting up with friends of friends who have other friends in the Mardi Gras Parade. So I'll have a nice group to hang with tomorrow.
It's so funny how a day can turn around and who you wind up meeting in your travels. I hope you enjoy today's pictures. I am sure the pictures from the parade will be even more fabulous!! Cheers!
