Leaving Orlando Leaving Orlando Leaving Orlando

this is the last time we see some of this luggage!!
Christmas eve 6pm ... our travel day we leave for London in route to Madrid!

TravelMap

The adventure begins! Day 1 Orlando airport and our flight is 2 hours late. Darn... and I forgot 2 check that ahead of time, so here we sit in our home airport. Oh well, no worries, it just shortens the 3 hour wait we have for our London flight to Madrid.
LESSON LEARNED .... Always check ur international flight BEFORE u leave home. But waiting here is no real problem since ..hey..we gotta wait somewhere. We came pretty close to getting a seat upgrade. The flight has only 50 people, so we asked for the upgrade, the line attendant was trying to get us to her cousin at the counter..she had said 'why not?..its Christmas!'
But another attendant was available first and didn't agree with the line attendant. She told us we could stretch out anywhere in 'Economy Class' ... AND you have to go back to your original assigned seat '..or the plane would be unbalanced!!' Funny, it's a pretty big plane!

We grab some chinese food and I surprise Steven with the news that .... 'We're going to Morocco!!' So, 3days in madrid and 4 in Barcelona then head south to Gibralter and cross the med on ferry to north Africa..just for the adventure!! Steven fully and excitedly agrees!!

LESSON LEARNED...(again) Sit by your gate! We almost miss flight out of Orlando. We were sitting one gate away from gate 83 and didn't hear any announcements for our flight. Close..really! 10more minutes of inattention and chatting on the phone we would've been a missed flight.
Flight to London was an uneventful 7 hours, watched Flight of the Condor, acoustic comedy...very funny. The last 20 minutes was choppy and I got that 'cold sweaty/about to barf' feeling...exit plane, get on moving sidewalk and feeling confirmed.....find a place to barf/ralf/puke/upchuck/vomit...wow...there are lots of words for that!
Flight to Madrid....wait 90mins but we had to check one of our bags. For domestic travel you can have 2 small carry ons but in Europe ( and it happened to us last year on Ryan Air flying Paris to Rome).. you can only have 1 carry on. Checked in two bags and SURE enough...when we get to Madrid....both bags are missing. Start the claim process !!!

YOU are CRAZY and i love you!
Only YOU could get a fre trip to Spain as a result of luggage loss. Are you sure you aren't Scottish?????? Am off for my beach walk. Am trying a singles New years eve thing tonight. Whatever. Awesome outfit ( I did not lose my luggage!) My love and best wishes to you and Steve for a blessed New Year! BTW have joined an episcipalian church. The people are beuatiful. the music is wonderful. The prayer is very very testament-oriented; very familiar to a lapsed Catholic as I am. My friend who invited me asked how did i know what to sing and say without reading. I said it is all the same silly rabbit. You believe in him or you don't. I love you, Veroica
