Espana dias dos (Christmas)
Arrival in Madrid ....
We´re here!! A bit tired...
We are confined to our hand baggage. Checked our baggage and it´s missing... what a mess!! Well we hope its found soon...and perhaps even delivered to here! ... Hopefully before we leave for Barcelona! ...
Well, navigation from airport to hotel was very easy for us.. metro station right at airport and 3 quick trains later...at our room/hostel. Get settled and by 5pm...ready for a nap..since the traveling was tiring. We sleep til 10pm then up to rome the city for a few hours. Start with a snack and coffee. Then head back to plaza Mayor..then plaza del Sol...ahh. El centro del ciudad (the center of Madrid) ! Steven takes camera and tripod..and we walk around and take night photos.
Find grocery store pickup some milk, juice, yogurt, apples, etc. Hotel is nice all new..very modern. Has remote control heat and full kitchen. Bathroom is nice too... 50 per night!
Go to bed at 1am...I pill the metal shades down and we sleep till 11am... Get up and head to the Maestro Chuccuria for breakfast ..churros,thick dipping chocolate, sandwich mixto(queso,huevo,jamon).. cafe con leche..todas muy bueno.
Check
on our lost luggage...still lost!
Head to the Prado..excellent display of Grecos,Goyas,Vaquez...then nearby botanical garden..IN Winter!! Yes..still good. Nearby Reina del Sophia to see modern art..some photography funny country last supper, y otras, muy bueno.
Wifi everywhere and not a drop to drink!! Wifi out on the street and I can't connect...either it's not 802.11g or a network password is needed. I am stopping at a phone store tomorrow to ask about city wide wifi.
Dinner at Restaurante de Sophia...Paella! Mmm , some wine too.. Very nice. Metro back to Tourismo Molina. Gave homeless man our extra paella and some money..spoke to him in spanish too.
A blessed day ..!
2 faces ...we're in a botanical garden, but it's winter!! .. Nothing to see but US!

Hi Mike. Steve and Alicia shared your blog site with me. What fun. I was to Spain and Morocco way back in the late 80's (it was much cheaper to go there then!). Enjoy the experience. Are the bull fights in season? If so - get to see one - very colorful and dramatic. Judy
are you wearing clean draws yet or reversing them for the 3rd time?
