Lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night..

Pitch Black, No moon...

I rose at 5am to watch the sunrise at the beach. Children and husband all sleeping soundly, I grab a jacket and slip out. Not a soul around, it is very dark. I am too scared to go down to the beach... who knows who might be out there! So I sat under a light post in the pitch dark waiting for the sunrise. An old man walked by with a torch. I asked if he knew when the sunrise would be.... He said right now... next month!! ha ha.. I was a month too early!! The sun finally started to peek through and I went down and sat on the beach. It wasn't windy at all, so I didn't even really need the jacket. It felt like I was sitting there for ages! Waiting waiting. A couple stolled by, another photographer took photos, but then I was all alone again.

A few minutes later I hear excited squeals. I look behind me and there are my beautiful darlings running towards me!! I wake up at the crack of dawn and sit for hours and they came strolling down just as the sun starts to peek through and turn into a burning ball in the sky!! Cheeky monkeys!! So we sat and enjoyed the peaceful moment. We took lots of photos with the sun in the back ground to give us all a lovely glow! When the sun was fully risen it was back to the cabin for a big breakfast. Sunrise watching can get your appetite up!

We packed up and headed off to the reason we were at the coast for. A 4th birthday party. Great food, a Clown, Face painting, Hair Spraying, Colouring In competition. Lots of family and friends down at Shelley Beach. It was a Fire Truck Theme and we even had the Highway Patrol turn up. Not because it was such a ruckus party (hee hee) but for the birthday boy. The policeman even put the siren on for a minute. I think some of the Dads were just as excited as the kids 😉

We ended up staying nearly all day at Shelley Beach. It was very relaxing to sit and chat. The children had all their cousins to play

with and look after them - making it very relaxing for me 😊 After the party, I go find my children on the beach walking a huge fluffy dog... Whose dog is it? And why are they walking it? Very funny to see them pulled along by the leesh!! I made sure they gave it back to the rightful owner. Which made them a little sad.

Party over, weekend over, our short holiday over.

We had such a great time. As in the words of Miss 6 "This was all my dreams together!"

Enjoy!
