Flying over the pacific ocean between San Francisoco and Tokyo.
The 26 hour journey was definatley worth it. I could go home tomorrow and it still would be worth it. This is by far the most interesting experience that I have ever had.

The weather here is very hot and humid, which makes some days very difficult. When I arrived, I met up with my friend Jason from Vancouver, and a guy he met from Wales named Steve. My first 2 nights were spent in a guest house on Koh San Road. The room was tiny with no windows. We had a few dirty mattresses on the ground to sleep on, and a bit of air conditoning with a mind of its own. The walls were covered in messages left by previous people.

When i first opened the door and turned the light on, I was delighted to see some legs sticking out from underneath my mattress. Jay was kind enough to stuff a manican in my bed as a nice welcoming surprise!

The food here is excellent. We just finished a 45 min free food survey, where we were able to try many different thai foods. Most meals cost around 75 cents....and they are amazing!

night we went to Patpong....which was quite interesting! If you dont know, it is a huge strip of bars...many go-go bars. We were constantly harrassed by a little thai man who eventually convinced us to check out a "ping pong show". I have never seen something so ridiculous in my life! These girls can smoke, use chopsticks, and best of all shoot ping pong balls! sorry...no pictures for this one...

We are about to leave for the airport to pick up our friend Carl (also from Vancouver), and then we will be coming back to Koh San Road to try the night life. I hope to do some more touring of Bangkok in the next few days. I had horrible jet lag, but I am starting to adjust and feeling a little more adventurous!
