Caught in the Act!
Bacchio means "kiss" and is my favorite gelato flavor of choco and hazelnuts. I will go back to my non-dairy eating self when I am not tempted by Gelato. Well, here is the report: (keeping this one short and sweet)
I stayed in Italy for over two weeks, enjoying the sites as well as the culture. In all, I went to: Milan, Lake Como, Trento, Arco, Cortina D'Ampezzo (famous for having the Dolomiti in their backyards) and Venezia. In Venezia, I ran into a Jew, who led me to Shabbat dinner, which led me to instant friends and plenty of food. There is never a problem among us Jews if you need food, conversation, or a place to sleep. And so, for the 20 hours I was there, I had everything I needed. They tried to get me to stay, but alas, there is no climbing there, and Joni gets VERY cranky if there is no climbing around. (I was already developing an itchy rash that could only be scratched by climbing)
If customs is any indication of the drug usage here, then it is no shock that Ecstacy pills are only 5 Euros. They are cheaper than alcohol, which makes it more popular than alcohol. In other words, the airport had me wrap my backpack

(See the video above) in celophane wrapping before putting it on the plane (better to conceal all the drugs) and I just walked off the plane and got my pack. No customs, no stamp on my passport... Nothing. Drug smugglers must have a blast here.
I have been in Barcelona for a few days, rock climbing everyday. Everyone (Kendra, my rock climbing buddies, my host) made it clear that I am visiting an area that attracts over 6 million tourists a year... maybe I can do some tourist sight seeing, rather than just look at some rock...
Maybe they have a point. I mean, there is a Museum of Chocolate. Might be worth checking out. So on Saturday I ask a climbing buddy if he will accompany me to some museums on Sunday. We agree he will pick me up at 9:30am.
He asks: "So do you want to go climbing in the afternoon?"
Hell YA! That is when I fell in love with Gelida. I got stung in the shoulder twice by bees... Both bites within one inch of each other. SHIT they stung. Thank goodness I am not allergic, and found myself climbing a minute later. It was so rude. I

Drinking from Camelbak... You dont want to know how many layers I have on here. It was so cold. wasn't doing anything to provoke the bees, I was just flaking the rope! Grrrrrrr...
I asked one of my Spanish climbing buddies who traveled in America what he thought of the States, and he said that America has so much amazing produce. More fruits, vegetables, meats, and anything else to choose from. Given this, he was shocked by how many people he saw in McDonalds. Can we understand this, folks??
Here is an interesting fact to add to your internal Encyclopedia: The Romans created the concept of streets. Since all roads would begin in Rome, thus all roads lead to Rome, and this was always noted for the people who might get lost. Thus created the saying, "All roads lead to Rome." Creating the saying, "All roads lead to home."
Okay... off to go sight-seeing in Barcelona.
Cheers!
keeping with my promise to share my love for rock climbing by posting new insights about why rock climbing rocks my world... I thought this up recently....
There are times in rock climbing that you have to commit to a move, and you may not succeed, and your body will tell you that your
artwork
art work in the streets... so pretty life is in jeopardy. So, you have to strategize, either the climb up, or sometimes even a climb down to traverse over to another side for your safety. Remember this word: STRATEGIZE. It is something we do all the time. We have business strategies, war strategies, lifetime strategies. Even during the Cuban Missile Crisis, when the Americans had to figure out how to get the Cubans to dis-arm themselves (they had a nuclear missile pointed towards the US) one of the things that helped the American politicians (the Kennedys) was the fact that they could sit in a room and strategize for hours about what would happen if they did this, or that, and the consequences of acting on each move. Okay. So you understand strategy, and the value of it. Now, you have to strategize your next move on the rock, and you need to do it in the next 3 seconds, because all of your body is tense from holding your body weight on a tiny little rock, and you don't know how much longer your body will hold out. You need to strategize the next best move, because if you fall, you are in serious trouble... especially
Reminder to Recycle
Recycling is an everyday phenomenom here (unlike the states). Here is yet another reminder to recycle. if you are soloing.
Now, doesn't it make sense that this will help you in the business world to make great business strategies, responses and the like QUICKER and more ASSUREDLY than your peer?
