Byron Bay to Brisbane

Well, i have realised I have travelled quite far since surf camp! We spent 5 days in Byron Bay, 4 Days in Surfers Paradise, then a further 5 days in Brisbane! We were due to go to Noosa after this, but found some work here (just setting up a shop, nothing interesting!) so made an overnight trip to Noosa still, to say goodbye to various surf camp and Sydney people before everyone went their separate ways!

So now we are back in Brisbane for atleast ten days before heading back up to Noosa and carrying on up to Cairns!

So anyway, Byron Bay was a cool place, very laid back and a bit hippyish! We were in the hostel with Surf Camp people still, and our hostel was right on the beach, although it had a very odd sandy track down which included crossing some old train tracks! lol! We had a trip to Nimbin here, which is like another wolrd, it was crazy! We also found a bead shop where i managed to make a bracelet and a necklace for $3! amazing! I could have lived there! lol! It was also nice to be chilled out for a while though!

Then it was off to Surfers, which it has to be said was not to my taste! It was very neon! lol! Its where a lot of aussies go for their hols and it is just bars and the beach, and not much else, although we did go to the water park (but i DIDNT nearly break lauras neck this time!), and we did stay in a hostel that was actually part of a hotel and we could use their facilities like the pool and stuff which was very nice! But we were ready to leave here quite soon, and it was nice being in a city again! Brisbane is quite cool! They have a fake beach which sits next to the river, and you have a view of the city and the river in front of you as you sunbathe! very strange! it has a really cool state libaray though! it is just really pretty! lol! We also found another bead shop (just made a necklace this time!).

So the we spent this weekend in Noosa. which was really nice and I am looking forward to getting back to it! It was also nice to say goodbye to everyone as after here, everyone is dispersing more! It feels a bit crap staying in Brisbane for another 2 weeks but its gotta be better than Fruit Picking! lol!
