Queenstown to Wanaka
This morning we checked out of our hostel in Queenstown and went to pick up our hire car. Its a white Nissan Sunny, i named it Sunny, how very original! i was tired and couldn't think of anything else!

Its an automatic again and as my left foot felt uneasy not doing anything to the foot pedals in Australia we decided Chris would be todays designated driver!

Went straight to the supermarket to load up on supplies as we now have somewhere to stash it all. In Dunedin, there was a brewery tour we could have done, but we didn't have time, so we bought a 12 pack of the beer brewed there, called Speights, will let you know what its like tomorrow!

The journey to Wanaka took about 1.5 hours. We decided to take the scenic route and went on the roads through the mountains. Very pretty, very high and i'm very glad i wasn't driving! Good ol' Chris did a grand job.

Our Hostel in wanaka is called the Purple Cow, thanks for the recommendation Kat H, its really nice. Has a ski lodge look to it. After dumping our stuff, we went for a walk to Lake Wanaka and around the town centre and then drove to a place called 'Puzzling World'. Its all about illusions and tricks your mind plays on you. We started with the double decker maze to find all 4 corners and then the exit. Started well and was a laugh but after a while, it got very frustrating and lost its appeal - so we cheated, just the once, to find the exit!

We then entered a room with sloped floors, tilted furniture and sloped steps - all creating illusions which made me feel sick! i had to leave to get back to normality!

This evening we are going to chill and plan the next step of the journey. Picking up tips from the girls in our room to plan the Franz Josef glacier trip.

Are you sure?
Are you sure you wouldn't rather be at work? Wanka looks mad, a playpen for adults. Like golf.
