Might be an hour late....but the flight was nice (thanks to the pretty stewardess who smiled a lot...and gave her number).
Hi guys,

I just want to share to you our vacation this past weekend. 0800 in the morning, we depart from our house to the domestic airport to catch our 1030 flight to Kalibo via Cebu Pacific. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed for a long 1 hour.

After an endless hide and seek game with my daughter (and countless numbers of cigars ....) we departed Manila at 1140...we then arrived Kalibo airport at 1210. Here, we managed to catch the shuttle van from the airport to the jetty port of Caticlan which is by the way a loooonnnngggg 2 hour ride. Fortunately for us, we managed to get a fifty peso discount ($1.00) per pax, which is great (I think my knowledge of the local dialect proved to be very handy on this trip..).
Upon reaching the Caticlan port (the jump off point to the island of Boracay), we immediately went to the ticket vendor to purchase our fare for the boat ride from the port to the island. Upon reaching the embarkation port, we were blocked by a local guard seeking environmental fee of 50 pesos per head.......this is where my tongue was put to good use as

The quietest airport I ever been too in my life!
I explained that I am a native of the place (FOR INFO: Environmental fees are being collected from foreigners and local visitors. Locals are free of this fee). To make the story short..........we arrived the island with about 100 pesos discount per pax (Its great to be bilingual sometimes don't you think?).

In the island, we were met by our relatives and checked into a cottage of another relative in station 2. We then proceed to the local market to shop for our dinner (as this is the cheapest way to eat in the island........if you have a pretty aunt in the island that is very much willing to cook for you. Good thing I'm one of the few who is blessed of this priviledge).

Our time in the island was well spent on swimming, eating drinking and island hoping. And believe me this came very cheap as most of the activities we had came free courtesy of our relatives and friends (I also have a couple....). Even the drinkings in the bar was free (thanks to Tita Jane.....), so I think you can picture out what I look like when we are to go home.......now I know

Me and my wifey!
its hard to be a dog and crawl your way on all fours from the bar to the bed. Thanks to the B52 and the TEQUILA 2000, I was partying all night.........and waking up without a clue on what happened the night before..........

To make my story short.........we had a blast in Boracay........and I have the pics to prove them.........ENJOY!!!!

looks like a great time.. I plan on going to the Philippines in July/August. I'm trying to figure out how much i should expect to pay for regional airfare.. The prices on philippine airlines and cebupacific are like night and day. PA being very expensive, and CP almost too cheap to believe. Can you shed any light on this?

airfares
Hi......Usually, there are promo fares on domestic flights which you can avail if you booked in advance. But on regular airfares, PAL and CP flights are almost evenly matched in terms of price and service. Another factor is that if you are planning to travel on a peak season, expect everything to be double (sometimes triple) in price. To conclude, I suggest that you try booking from the internet....and try to book in advance (1 or 2 months before...). This way, you might be able to avail their promo fares.....
