Some basic tips to improve the readability of your blog entries.
The pictures will only display if there's text or narrative right? That means you have to keep writing in order for your photos to appear?

Yes, you would need to make a blog with some text in it, in order to upload the photos. But, one line of text is enough.

On being financially compensated for your blogs, I've now been approached a couple of times about having some of my blogs published. Very flattering. The point being Ali is right in saying that there are people out there watching. Spooky huh.

...but I think you´re forgetting something really important:
"Being nice"
I mean, always there are possibilities that you don´t like the country you´re travelling through but it doesn´t mean that you have the right to write in an insulting way, for example calling a
"dirt hole, to put it politely, which is known as Peru" to a country doesn´t seem nice at all.
Of course, I think the blogger in this case doesn´t care about the matter that his blog could be the most widely read on TB but only release his anger of his bad experiences.
Some weeks ago I think I read a forum about
"What is the dirtiest country in the world?", people was writing their experiences without saying something like
"looking at endless crap in the streets".

Reply to this I agree enthusiastic with 'Ash' #155254. If someone really finds any place as 'a dirt hole'(to put it politely!!) it's her / his right. But to express it openly, in public, is very far from being polite. I know from my personal experience that there are places where I feel not good, to put it politely, and I'm angry about a dirty room in a hotel or museum. But one shouldn't offend other people especially if she / he don't know who is the responsible person and is rude to anyone in nearness, even to other visitors, customers. It is terrible. I don't remember who has said - nearly so - to be polite is very cheap (you don't have to pay a penny), but is valued very high, as an extremely jewel. I agree with that absolutely. Let's be nice!

I agree with you. I think people can share honest views about a location and still be nice. From time to time we have all traveled to or visited a location that was not our cup of tea. Our views could have been influenced by many factors, dirt, crime, attitudes or we just didn't like the vibe.
We can use descriptive words to describe what we did not like in a constructive way rather than "bashing" I like what you say-- just be nice. I am not at all suggesting that someone should not write about what they disliked because I think it is important to hear the good as well as the bad but it can be done constructively.
I am looking forward to reading your blogs.

Hey all..... I know it's been a long time since anyone's posted in here but had to comment.
I've found from experience that using word or a similar program to cut and paste later is a great idea, but.... don't write it with the format codes as these programs automatically capitalize the "i" when wanting italics (which makes it not work).
Re-reading some of my previous entries I'm still finding mistakes... making my OCD twitch.
Reply to this I must must admit i have the tendency in recent times for the gift of gab. Especially most of the people people that read my entries are friends and family back home in North America. I figured since I am in China where Facebook is blocked i thought to start this a better way to express my thoughts and allow those to read up on what i have done. I some of my more recent entries i tend to go well over the 2000 words i had originally planed because you want to accurately describe what you had seen or how you felt when you had seen a particularly moving thing. I try and be mindful of how I write some things because although originally for myself, as i stated before, it was meant for friends and family but it morphed into something more. something more unique and meaningful.
I am always looking for suggestions and ideas on how to get my thoughts and feelings across in a proper and timely fashion.
I guess the question i want to ask is that is there a word limit to a single entry? What would be the best advice for the word limit for a single entry?
