Need help finding a quiet location in the Caribbean area.
Hi,
My wife and I want to plan a trip to Mexico or Belize next spring (2008). But because we’re both hovering around age 60, we’re only interested in a very quiet, slow-paced location
and we don’t need luxury ... and a single, private dwelling would be nice. In other words, no mariachi/reggae/rock music till all hours of the morning in the courtyard of the hotel next door or downstairs in our own hotel. Just want a spot where you hear nature, not an amplifier. Also, we both are recreational scuba divers, so we’d like to be near some Caribbean waters. Are we asking too much? Please respond if you have any ideas.

Reply to this hi, I am going to mexico on the Yucatan Peninsulain dec 07. I have found a place called Genesis Retreat it is an unique eco-oasis, next to the mayan village Ek Balam and the mayan ruin Ek balam. www.genesisretreat.com It is about 1-2 hours from Cancun.
I think the best spot for diving are right offshore from the island of Cozumel(too many turists), but I have heard it is beautiful everywhere alonge the mayan riviera. Tulum has some great spots right on the beach where you can stay and they all do trips to the Great Reef. Shop around here on the internet, I am sure that you will find something.
