I'm travelling to HK at the start of Sept. and not sure where to stay.
Can anyone recommend cheap hostels/hotels that are in the Kowloon district of HK??

Reply to this Hey again, I was just in Hong Kong as well. Stay at "Hong Kong Hostel." It's in Causeaway Bay and is very cheap. If you insist on staying in Kowloon, then you can stay at the "Mirador" or "Chungking" Mansions; just be ready for a real dirty, strange, and eyeopening experience. I would really really strongly recommend Hong Kong Hostel, just type that into google and book well in advance. It's still small (like everywhere in Hong Kong) but at least it will be somewhat clean and the AC will work. You can get to Kowloon really easy on the Metro (like fifteen minutes) from Causeway Bay and the area is also way less of a tourist trap and much nicer.

I didn't really done any research on cheap hotels but I stayed in Prudential Hotel in Jordan, Kowloon. After coming back and researching about it, I found that it actually offers a lot of convenience in terms of MTR locatilty, food and shopping. Although rooms are not fantastic but it does offer great location to nearby ammenities.
