Is it ok to do a dive course in Thailand in August?

We are travelling through SEA hittin Thailand at the start of August. We really want to get PADI open water qualified in Thailand so we can do dives throughout the rest of the region and Australia. Is it weather permitting though, i.e. affected by the monsoon season? We're flexible about where we do it, where's the best this time of year?

It would still be rainy in August. If you really wanna...perhaps you should stick on the Gulf of Thailand side...which is a stretch along Pattaya, down to Hua-hin, and Chumporn. Chumporn is a popular start for diving. Reply to this
