We first backpacked in Eastern Europe in 2001 visiting Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia & Italy. In 2002 we spent the whole 12 months backpacking around the world. This was before blogs so find details here: http://members.iinet.net.au/~weggs/weggs_world/index.htm

In 2007 we enjoyed another 6 months. This time we organised some home exchanges to help the budget, meet new people and be able to kick back and relax in a few places. Thanks heaps for the nomination. We are proud to be recognised and love Travel Blog. We enjoy reliving our travels by reading through our blogs once the travel is over. Rags has been very conscientious which writing up the blog every day this trip and hasn't needed any reminders. :-) Reply to this

I think that is the quickest response I've ever received from a recipient of a Blogger of the Week announcement since I've been administering the Award (more than 2 years)!

Yes, Bob, he is! Judy here, I have some great bruises but no pain! We are getting ready to take off today on our own. I am a bit nervous about getting back on the bike especially as we have some steep downhill at the start!
