Visa upon arrival

Passport needs to be valid for six months in order to secure a visa?

I have a question about visa:

I have read that Immigration at the airport will not issue a visa if there is less than six months validity left on a passport.
Will I get into trouble upon arrival if my US passport is expiring in three months?

Many thanks,
charles

yes, anywhere you go to travel your passport always needs to be valid for more than 6 months past your return date back to your home country. The logic behind that there is the possibility you might loiter in that country past the expiry date and get stuck there (which they're not fond of because you might end up relying on public funds).
The 6 month policy is pretty standard for all countries and visa applications. Reply to this
