I first came to China as a study abroad student in pre-Olympic Beijing, then returned several months after graduation to travel around the country. I have taught English in Hawaii, Korea, and Guatemala. I completed my MA TESOL in December 2012 and moved to Shanghai.

Thanks for nominating me, I’m honored! This photo was taken on a weekend trip to Suzhou. I was out looking for a convenience store and it was absolutely pouring. I was completely soaked and fed up, then turned the corner and saw this street. The neon lights were perfectly reflected in the wet pavement and a few people were hunkered underneath their umbrellas.

Thanks for sharing the story about the photo. It is always great to hear how the shot was captured. A few rain drops must fall in each trip and you've certainly made the best of it.
