Cycling Laos - experiences?

Cycling from Luang Prabang and heading south. Keen to hear other people's experiences.

We will be cycling from Luang Prabang and generally heading South. Ultimately we want to get to Indonesia, we have plenty of time, and will cross into Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand etc... Has anyone cycled this area, or currently doing this, who has any tips?

The good news to all international travelers is that Bhutan is planning to fully open for tourism / international Travelers from September 2022 onwards with no quarantine.
