We will be in Rome on first week of october, then return on Oct. 16 & 17. Eating and enjoy the beauty of places in a foreign country is one of the pleasures of travel. It can also be a rip-off. Can anyone tell me where we can find some out-of-the-way eateries in Rome where more locals go than tourists? And how can i make this trip more enjoyable . . . we are not cheap but economical.
Thanks in advance Reply to this

Rome is great place to explore, hope you will enjoy these place colosseum, Capitol Hill, pantheon, trivia fountain, Spanish steps, Vatican museum and Sistina chapel there.

Trastevere has an abundance of reasonably priced restaurants, including pizzerias…

In our last trip to Rome Livorno and Naples, we select Rudy’s private tours. We found him through Tripadvisor, he was very kind person and having great knowledge in his field.<snip>

In my opinion car tour's are the best way to enjoy the beauty of these marvelous cities.

I take it that between the first week and 16 October you are going elsewhere, and thus the mention of a car. With a generous budget a car gives you a lot of flexibility for visiting the countryside, e.g., Tuscany or Umbria, but is a burden in cities. So if you are traveling to cities, take the train. I agree with the previous comments about Rome. Reply to this
