Hi, im looking to do a road trip across america, starting in LA, but looking to visit, Vegas, the rocky mountains, chicago and various other cities, finishing in NY
Could anyone tell me any places of interest, costs, what we would need, best routes etc
looking to go for 1-2 months, in may/june time

Welcome to Travelblog. I've travelled the United States cross country, and it is awsome. The country has incredible variety, so the "best" things to see depends on what you like to do. Are you interested in incredible hikes, big cities, long scenic drives, historic museums, or something else?
The US is big. With only two months, you should plan on either seeing a little bit of many places, or a whole lot of a few places. My personal preference is for the latter. You spend more time doing things and less time on transport.
