Heading to Burma this July / Aug and would love to hear from people who are there or have been recently....

Have the basic L.P. view on Burma, but would like to hear from people who have been there recently, specifically the islands in the south and the area below Dawei - (have seen pictures and it looks stunning), but alledgely it's a no go area for tourists... or so rumour has it.... Ne one know the facts??
Nehows would be wicked to hear from anyone with any info on the above - and if anyones there in July let me know...
