Your Travel Anthem

Which song will always stay with you wherever you may go?

This song became something of an anthem for me, despite the fact that I generally can't stand dunka dunka music. The lyrics are pants but for some reason this song seemed to come along at one of the lowest times of my life and pushed me in the right direction again. Despite the simplicity of its message, it struck a cord with me and has stuck with me ever since.

It's funny what songs make an impression...........not always for the words either........they just come along in the right place at the right time! The three songs below have constantly been amongst my favourites and most listened.

When doing my charity walk across Great Britain last year 'We Walk' by The Ting Tings was well listened to for obvious reasons. Listening to the lyrics of MGMT's 'Time to Pretend' helps me to focus on attempting to do what I like most in life rather than feel like I have to follow the masses, and I always listen to Empire of the Sun's ''We Are The People' because it's such an uplifting, catchy song.

The Ting Tings - We Walk

MGMT - Time to Pretend

Empire of the Sun - We Are The People

Whenever I'm standing on a beautiful beach this song always springs to mind... I think the opening lyrics really capture that 'perfect beach moment'.

Incubus - Wish You Were Here

Other than that, whenever I pick up my my iPod on this trip this always seems to be one of the first tracks I choose, no real reason why other than I love it!

Chase & Status - End Credits. It's on the soundtrack for the movie 'Harry Brown'. So you'll have to disregard those bits in the video.

The earthquake of 3/11 sort of pushed us (the Hubby and me) out of our happy Kanto home and back on the road due south. This was our theme song to keep our spirits up at the time and it kinda stuck. :-)

I have a little ritual before I hop on a plane...I must watch these three youtube clips -

This clip is simply AWESOME -

Because it reminds me that I am on my way to the one thing in my life thats missing. Because I want to be someone who burns burns burns like fabulous roman candles exploding like spiders across the sky.

Then This -

And...this...

After said ritual has been performed I can get in car and head to airport but i must listen to Foo Fighters Wheels and B52s roam while in car.
